Become a Trustee
Would you like to become a Trustee for Bourne United Charities (BUC)? Currently all 15 Trustee positions are filled, but if you are interested in being involved please get in touch and we can keep your details on record. The position of Trustee is an unremunerated position and is for an initial term of four years. BUC are custodians of a portfolio of assets, the revenues of which are utilised in a number of areas within the Parish of Bourne.
The Trustees meet 11 times a year as a body and there are additional meetings throughout the course of the year for members of the sub-committees which oversee specific areas of BUC’s activities. Wherever possible meetings are held in the evening, but there are occasions when meetings are held during the day and you must be in a position to devote an additional 10-20 hours over the year to this purpose.
This is an extremely interesting role where you will be able to make a long lasting and positive contribution to the Parish as part of a group of Trustees, helping to ensure that the assets of BUC are properly maintained and that the income generated from those assets is applied in line with the aims of our Scheme which is governed by the Charities Commission.
To be considered for the appointment of Trustee you must:
- Be eligible to serve as a Trustee as per the terms of the Scheme.
- Be able to demonstrate an interest in the provision of services which provide a general benefit to the inhabitants of the Parish.
We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who have experience in either Finance or in Property Management, although applicants with other relevant skills will be given serious consideration.
To apply for this position please submit your CV and a short covering letter outlining your relevant experience:
