Almshouse Residents Celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

On Thursday 2nd June 2022, residents from the Almshouses, West Road, Bourne welcomed friends, family and trustees to their celebration to mark the anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II to the throne on this day in 1953.

The Salvation Army Community Band entertained everyone with a variety of music including familiar tunes which encompassed all the countries of the British Isles as well as marking the occasion with the National Anthem. Refreshments were served in the Almshouse gardens making good use of the excellent summer weather.

On Monday 6th of June residents attended a celebration tea-party at the Ginger Fox Cafe, Bourne.
